Usually fall is my favorite time to style outfits, but as this winter has seemingly turned into an extended fall rather than a season of snow, I have had so much fun with trying new combinations. Here is a look book of four trends I’ve been loving recently:
1) Patterns

About:
As my all time favorite style of dress (babydoll) tends to lose its stylistic element when worn alone, I find layering a pattern underneath not only provides an interest factor but also gives a sense of depth to any look. By using a thin, sheer fabric as an underlay, the dress avoids the bulk commonly consequenced with layering.

2) Oversized

About:
I often find myself leaning towards outfits similar to this on study days at a coffee shop when I want to be comfortable while still wearing attire with structure to keep me me on task and motivated.

3) Mixed Materials

About:
Ever since my most fashionable friend Ellie wore polka dotted tights, I knew I had to try and cater them to my own style . Although there are infinite ways to style patterned tights, I love to keep the rest of my outfit elements solidly colored and neutral. Here, I chose to mix the textures of a linen dress, mesh tights, and ribbed turtleneck to keep the outfit interesting, while still allowing the tights to be the center of attention. Lastly, I added a colorful star necklace to contrast the surrounding beige and black.

4) Cropped

About:
When wearing cropped shirts I feel like it is important to find a balance between the amount of skin showing when its cold out. I am constantly pairing shirts like this one with wide leg pants or mom jeans. This way, outfits maintain their focal point without losing comfort in the colder months. I paired this look with a layered silver star necklace to help bring an interest factor to the pattern- free look.
